VENENZIA 2024 : Settimana Internazionale della Critica

The Settimana Internazionale della Critica is thrilled to unveil its 2024 programme!

The 9 films comprising the programme of the 39. Settimana Internazionale della Critica (28 August – 7 September 2024) open up a window to the world, allowing us to observe the present in all its complexity, its uncertainty, the lack of definition that clings to our days, no matter the latitude. Like a thermometer, they measure the swelling temperature of our increasingly strained society, displaying it, uncensored, in all its contradictions.
It is a wide-ranging programme that showcases both genre and art-house cinema codes with an array of styles, from the realistic to the documentary, with the use of irony, or through the filter of magic realism.
